Donald W. Burton, Founder and Chairman, began his venture capital career in 1973 with Fidelity Venture Associates in Boston. Mr. Burton founded South Atlantic in 1983 and has represented South Atlantic in numerous investments, including Outback Steakhouse, Inc., Regal Cinemas, Inc., Telecom*USA, ITC^DeltaCom, Inc., Silk Greenhouse, Inc., MTL, Inc. and Powertel, Inc. He serves as a director of the National Venture Capital Association. Mr. Burton holds a BA degree in American Studies from Yale University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Sandra P. Barber, Managing Director, began her venture capital career with South Atlantic in 1983. Ms. Barber attended Indiana University. She handles all administrative functions for South Atlantic.

James W. Davidson, Managing Director, joined South Atlantic as a Consultant in 1993 and as Managing Director in 1997. Mr. Davidson began his career with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York and was responsible for investment banking in the Southeast for 10 years. In 1991, he founded Davidson Capital Partners, an investment banking firm based in Miami. Mr. Davidson is a director of Applied Automation Techniques, Inc. He holds a BA degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from The Wharton Graduate School of Business.

O. Gene Gabbard, Managing Director, joined South Atlantic in 1987 as a Special Limited Partner of South Atlantic Venture Fund, L.P. He was a co-founder of Telecom*USA and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer until August 1990 when Telecom*USA was sold to MCI Communications Corporation. He is Chairman of ClearSource, Inc. and serves as a director of ITC Holding Company, Inc., Powertel, Inc. and several other public and private companies. Mr. Gabbard holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Kentucky and an MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania.

Campbell B. Lanier III, Managing Director, joined South Atlantic in 1988 as a Special Limited Partner of South Atlantic Venture Fund II, L.P. He was a co-founder of Telecom*USA, co-founder and former Chairman of Async Corporation and co-founder and Vice Chairman of AvData Systems, Inc. Mr. Lanier is Chairman and Chief Executive of ITC Holding Company, Inc., Chairman of ITC^DeltaCom, Inc., Knology, Inc. and Powertel, Inc. and a Director of MindSpring Enterprises, Inc. He is also a director of the United States Telephone Association. Mr. Lanier holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Presbyterian College.

Drew A. Graham, Managing Director, joined South Atlantic in 1995 as an Associate. He began his career as an Analyst with the Merchant Banking Division of Morgan Stanley & Co., Incorporated in New York from 1989 to 1991. He is a director of Ganymede Software Inc. and Applied Automation Techniques, Inc. Mr. Graham holds an AB degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University and an MBA, With Honors, from the Harvard Business School.
